CHRISTIAN  CONFIDENCE

CHRISTIAN CONFIDENCE

In this modern day era, we are bombarded with information. In fact there is so much information generated by AI, computers, phones, and the internet that many times we can become overwhelmed with confusion.

For the Christian, there is salvation, confidence, peace, and stability. But the Christian must know the true correct source to look into. The word of God, the Holy Bible is the source that the creator God gave to humans to have a proper relationship with Him.

People that want a relationship with the creator God must choose to seek Him. There are many faiths in this world. People choose to worship this deity or that one, but the Christian must choose to follow the teachings of the Bible to be their guide. The Creator of human beings provided the Bible to be their guide. Seekers must not just know the information, but believe it to the point where they take action and follow.

Hebrews 11:6 states the following:

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Do you believe that there is a God? Do you believe that he rewards those who seek Him? If you do, there is hope for eternal life and a relationship with Him.

God did not write the Bible to be a mathematical proof text that must be solved like an equation. He compiled it in such a manner that you choose to accept it by faith. Do you understand? God wants those who choose by faith to follow, obey, and believe Him. For those who want to be a Christian, they choose that one source to follow. That one and only source is the Bible.

Hebrew 4:12 states:

12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

2 Timothy 3:16 & 17 states:

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Isaiah 40:6 states:

8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."

Life can be challenging when we are under a lot of pressure. We need an anchor to hang onto as we pass through a storm. That is why it is so important to have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe and know that He loves us. If the one who spoke and created the universe is our Heavenly Father, that very fact brings wonderful consolation that He can and will take care of our souls now and for eternity.

For those who believe, follow, and obey there is a wonderful future ahead.

By reading the Bible, we are told that God created humans and gave them a choice. He did not make them to be robots. God gave man rules to follow that would bless both the man and others in fellowship with him. But God also knew that man would not always follow those rules. When man chose not to follow those rules, then that would be defined as sin. God made a provision for man to be redeemed through a blood sacrifice. First, animals were used, but later the ultimate sacrifice would be God’s Son Jesus Christ dying on the cross to be the final ultimate sacrifice that would redeem mankind from their sins.

John 14:6 states:

6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God chose His Son Jesus Christ to be the Savior of the world. He is the Creator, He has the right to choose Jesus as His one and only mediator.

We are sinners, we need a savior. How do we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior?

We ask Him to save us!

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

We will all suffer in this life, we live in a fallen world. But the one way to avoid unnecessary suffering is to know and obey the Creator’s rules. These rules are spelled out in the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament. They are summarized in the Book of Deuteronomy, which Moses repeated just before the Israelites entered into the Promised Land.

In Deuteronomy, Moses stated several times that when the Israelites obeyed God they will experience blessing and wellness from Him (Duet. 4:39; 5:29; 6:18,).

Job states that wisdom and understanding are much more valuable than gold or silver. God puts it this way. He states in 28:28

28 And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.'"

After repeating the Ten Commandments in Deuteronomy 5, God says in Duet 5:29:

29 Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!

A fast way to start to learn the Bible is to first read the book of Matthew, then read the book of Genesis. Next read the book of Mark, then the book of Exodus. Alternate reading the next book of the New Testament, then the next book of the Old Testament. By the time you have read about 10 books of the Bible this way, you will have a good basic grasp of what is going on.

Finally, the last thing to cover is that after receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, believers have an additional blessing. Jesus gives to believers the Holy Spirit to be with them forever.

John the Baptist stated:

Mark 1: 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

The Apostle Paul stated:

Eph. 1: 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

Jesus gives to believers the promised Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit goes alongside and in believers to encourage, strengthen, love, and discipline them. The believer will never be totally alone again. The Holy Spirit is present to influence their thoughts and decisions. Do they still sometimes yield to sin? Yes; but nothing to the degree they would yield without the presence of the Holy Spirit.

2 Cor. 5: 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Romans 8: 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Romans 8: 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

A Godly fear is a healthy respect for the God who created us. For the best in life and eternity, we worship, declare, and obey our Creator. Suffering builds character, it is not fun. But its benefits are extraordinary. God chose for His own Son to suffer. Jesus would become the believer’s ultimate High Priest who could empathize with those who suffer.

The Christian can handle any problem or enemy that advances against him.

Romans 8: 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Do you believe? Do you want Jesus as your Savior? Then ask Him to save you from your sins and help you to follow Him!
